the one with religion in it...Feb 03, 2008 - 11:50 AM PST So, let me just preface this blog by saying that I am a proud Christian. I will eagerly discuss my spirituality with anyone and listen with equal interest to any challenges or discussion topics surrounding Christianity or other religions. I am not the stereotypical Southern Baptist, lets just put it that way. That being said, one of my favorite verses, my life verse if you will, is John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." I value my friends, and will do anything they ask of me (within reason). I have recently realized that the cast that makes up my "inner circle" is changing. I'm not so sure that I know how to deal with that type of change. How do you bring it up to the other party if you know they are the ones who are facilitating the change? What makes a true friend, in your opinion? I definitely believe that sacrificing one's own life (figuratively or literally if necessary) is the operative portion of it, but i'm not so sure what else it entails? This is an interactive-type blog...tell me what you think makes a good friend? And, how would you deal with a friend that is distancing themselves from you, but not communicating why? |
