The Scariest Secret and Fear

"The scariest secrets aren’t ones where you admit you were scared or the ones where you’re in pain. They are the ones where you can sit down and say that you are happy.
Because when you are happy, you don’t need anything other than what you have. And happiness is the scariest thing in the world.
We are so addicted to feeling pain, that we’ve forgotten how to feel happy.
We are so consumed in doubting others that we don’t realize we are loved by others.
Happiness is the main goal, right? But what happens when you get there.
I am afraid to be happy."


I wrote this a while back. But I still think it holds true. I am less afraid to be happy now, than I was then, but I think that fear still lingers.
