The unluck of love

Feb 19, 2008 - 20:03 PM PST

We were a match made in hell, our attraction dangerously magnetic, despite the warning signs we fell, a typical romance how pathetic. We knew we were destined to lose from the start, so on your mark ready set go, For a grand prize of two broken hearts, we took off like arrows from a cross bow.

Now all I have left is my ability to express, but it's all I need to write down our tragedy, the tears that stain this letter match the ones on my dress, a witness to my pain and bears silent testimony.

Of the consequences of giving your heart away, building expectations on uneven ground, putting your weaknesses out on display, while the world gathers round, to relish in your heartbreak, cause they've all been there before, they've all felt the same throbbing ache, of loving someone who doesn't love you anymore.

I was infatuated with you for your trait of seeming so allusive, your attraction to me was the part that made you a deity in my eyes. But your greedy need for worship took all I had to give, shame on me for handing my soul to you like a carnival prize. The problem isn't that you stopped loving me, it's that you never loved me at all, I jumped into your arms without worrying, I assumed you'd catch me when I fall.

And now all I have left is my ability to express, but it's all I need to write out this tragedy, the tears that stain this letter match the ones on my dress, a silent witness to my pain and bears testimony.

Of what happens when you fail to heed the warning signs, continue speeding towards a dead end, like crossing a field full of land mines, it's not something you'd recommend, yet knowing the outcome we'd still do it again, we can't break ourselves from the cycle of falling in love, like addicts to alcohol and cocaine, it's a bad habit we'll never be free of.

A match made in hell how poignant and poetic, only time will tell if I'll learn to be apathetic, you seem to have that mastered, you can walk away uninjured. But for right now I have to deal with the fact that all I have left is my ability to express, but it's all I need to write out this tragedy, the tears that stain this letter match the ones on my dress, a silent witness to my pain and bears testimony.

Of the consequences of giving your heart away, building expectations on uneven ground, putting your weaknesses out on display, while the world gathers round, to relish in your heartbreak, cause they've all been there before, they've all felt the same throbbing ache, of loving someone who doesn't love you anymore.

They bear testimony of what happens when you fail to heed the warning signs, continue speeding towards a dead end, like crossing a field full of land mines, it's not something you'd recommend, yet knowing the outcome of it all we'd do it again, we can't break ourselves from the cycle of falling in love, like addicts to alcohol and cocaine, it's a bad habit we'll never be free of.
