Volleyball Days: 1

So, I haven't been on QL in like 5 days, and I feel so behind the times. This really is an addiction for me. It's kinda sad. But my reasons for not being here are legit. I had my first volleyball tournament of the season this past weekend in Pheonix, Arizona. We did pretty well, 5th out of 38 teams. Not to shabby for our first time playing together. We played against some really good teams that have been playing together for a couple years, and either beat them or almost beat them. This team is by far the best team I've ever been on. There are virtually no attitudes and nobody gives up when were down. For instance we behind by 6 points and came back and won. Thats a big hurtle for most teams, and it was for us as well but we over came it. That says a lot.

As for the captain/team leader issue. I didn't make captain, but I'm deffinately one of the team leaders. Our setter made captain and I honestly think part of that is because my coach knew her from before. However I do think he sees me as a co-captain of sorts, just cause of things that happened at the tournament. I'm not disappointed in the least. I don't think I really have a reason to be.

My teammates are great, on and off the court. After only having one tournament this year were already closer to eachother than I have been with any other team after 9 months. Its crazy, but I have a good feeling about this season. Everyone is crazy and out to have a good time. Nobody wants to create drama and no one really talks shit about anyone else. Everyone on the team is comfortable with each other (almost too comfortable) and we all hang out as group (with the exception of our captain and middle hitter who are best friends and for some reason always tend to seperate themselves from the group, but they still come in and hang out everyonce in a while...its odd). But anyways. Volleyball - so far so good. Hope the rest of the season goes this well.

We have our first qualifier this sunday, our second qualifier next sunday, and then we get a weekend off and were off to Vegas baby. I can't wait. Its gunna be soooooooo fun!! yay!

One gnarly lookin bruis on my left forearm that aboutt he size of a playing card
One bruis on my left elbow, the size of my elbow
One jammed thumb, right hand
Tons of floorburns and bruises on both knees
Both shoulders that pop everytime they move
Lower back pain
Almost a black eye (I got hit in the nose and my eye started turning yellow but went away after a little bit)
Floor burn on the inside of my right pinkie finger
floor burn on top of my right hand
Bruise on the top of my left on the bone by my index finger and thumb
