Volleyball Days: 2

SO...This is how it goes.

We got ranked 109 overall in the SCVA (southern California volleyball association). Which is extremely low and in the middle of the silver division. Our team is too good for this, we should deffinately be in gold (top 50). So two sundays ago we had our first Qualifer tournament. We were ranked 3rd in our pool. We should have beat all the teams by a landslide, and instead only beat one. There ended up being a 3 way tie (for 2nd 3rd and 4th) and we recieved 4th. Not Good.

So we moved down to 116 in the SCVA. EW. This sunday (super bowl sunday) we had our second qualifier. We won 1st and dominated (scores were consistantly similar to 25-9 to 25-15). Then in the first game of our last match against a rival club team, our best middle blocker rolls her ankle. Not good. We only have to score too more points for that game to be over with so we do and move to the next one. I have to play middle blocker. A position i'm consistantly bad at and haven't played in 2 years. Our rivals win the second game 25-23. Not good. We go into the third game. I'm still playing middle. the score stays consistantly tied. Then they lead by two. Then we tie. Score becomes 15-14 us. (third game only goes to 15 and you have to win by two). We rally back and forth and finally they miss a hit. We won. Thank God.

This win should move us up significantly. The positions are posted yet. We have two weeks for our middle to get better before we have our tournament in Sin City. I hope she gets better and fast. Lucky for us Vegas isn't a SCVA ranked tournament. But the next week is.
