Weekend ReviewApr 17, 2008 - 05:53 AM PST We had a really good weekend this past weekend. So good, I have to tell you about it. Rach got a new job where she is only going to be working day shifts, so that means we can go out on a date on Fridays and/or Saturdays if we want... so we did. On Friday, we went out to eat at Chili's (a celebration of food) and we to a late movie (we saw "21" and recommend it as a "watch," as Ryan would say). The funny thing about the movie was that there was a guy sitting in front of us who talked a little too loudly. If you've seen the previews, you would know that it's about card counting in Black Jack. So there is some match involved. There is a scene that takes place in a college math course where Kevin Spacy (who plays a professor) is asking his students questions. This guy in front of us is answering the questions out loud, and (best of all) incorrectly. So Saturday - Rach had to work Saturday morning, so after she left - I did a little laundry, but mostly got the podcast edited and posted (you should check it out), and watched some of the Masters. Rach got home around 4:30, and we had plans to go over to Nute's apartment for dinner, where Sara (his girlfriend) was making dinner, and a fraternity brother of ours was in town. We went over there and had dinner and hung out and talked from about 7:00 to midnight. They decided they were going to go out to a bar, Rachael and I just wanted to go home. Over the time that I have known Sara, she has become increasingly health conscious to the point of not eating any red meat and making things out of tofu and soy. She made a vegetarian lasagna. Anyone who knows me knows I am not a huge fan of a lot of vegetables, but I gave this a shot and it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I mean, it's not something I want Rachael to make or anything, but it was okay. Finally Sunday - Rach doesn't work on Sundays. We watched the final round of the Masters, which wasn't down to the wire exciting, but fun nonetheless. It's cute because she is starting to pick up on thing about golf and asking me questions. She'll even groan a bit like I do when someone misses a close putt. She has yet to pick up on the lean I do to encourage a putt to break into the hole. After that, Nute and Sara stopped by so we could practice a few songs. Then I played a game of golf on my XBox and we went to bed. Solid weekend. I give it an A |
